NFL Power Rankings Week 2
NFL Power Rankings after week 2 of the 2013 regular season. Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos made a strong case for the top spot in the NFL power rankings this week. The Andy Reid led Chiefs matched their win total from the entire 2012 season, opening 2-0. After beating a good Dallas Cowboys squad, the Kansas City Chiefs move up in the NFL power rankings.
Other teams didn’t fare so well. Chip Kelly and the Eagles are still exciting but, that defense needs a lot of work. Michael Vick and the Philadelphia offense are still exciting though! Without solid defensive play they won’t be moving up the NFL power rankings anytime soon. Philadelphia plays host to Kansas City in a Thursday Night Football showdown.
NFL power rankings involve some guess-work this early in the season. The Washington Redskins look bad in week 2, but could easily shape up quickly. RGIII didn’t play in the NFL preseason, so the rust factor is higher. It will also take a little time for the young quarterback to feel comfortable throwing on that leg.
We’ve talked about the good, now it’s time for the bad. There are some serious disappointments in the NFL power rankings for week 2. The biggest has to be the Pittsburgh Steelers. For the first time in his career Big Ben started the NFL season 0-2. The main problem seems to be the lack of offense in Pittsburgh.
Those are the highlights but there are more surprises in the NFL power rankings after week 2. I can’t believe I’m saying this but, the New York Jets are better than I though they would be. That’s not to say I have much hope in them making a playoff run, but it’s something.
Ok let’s get to it. As always, leave your comments on where you think your team should be in the NFL power rankings. Please, no Tim Tebow comments! The guy is not coming back to the NFL.
