Why Manti Te’o NFL Draft Projections Won’t Change
Even with the inexplicable happenings surrounding the internet girlfriend hoax Manti Te’o NFL Draft projections are not going to change. At least they won’t change as it now stands. There is the issue of the interview that Te’o reportedly has scheduled tonight. Why the people surrounding Te’o would let him talk now is beyond understanding. There is nothing to gain and no explanation that improves the situation.
After all the speculation about what took place in the internet hoax and the girlfriend who may or may not be real Te’o has come out OK. It appears that he is a victim in all of this and he could let the thing go and move on. So why risk an interview where you could muddy the water of a situation that nobody understands anyway? NFL teams have time to investigate and get to the bottom of the issue before the April draft. So let it be and shut up!
I‘m intentionally not going into detail on the personal side of this because I simply don’t care. It seems that the NFL scouts and teams feel the same way. After speaking to three team scouts the universal opinion is one of indifference to the entire thing, provided it goes away. Two of the three stated directly that Manti Te’o draft projections and scouting reports don’t show any change due to the circus surrounding the Notre Dame player.
There must be someone to tell Te’o to sit back, shut his mouth, and run from any camera until the combine. One other consensus about Manti Te’o is that he may not be a top 10 selection anyway and a lot will depend how the scouting goes from now until April. As it stands I have Te’o going as the 15th overall pick and short of Te’o dropping a bombshell between now and draft day I don’t think that will change.
Hopefully this is the last amount of brain power used in the dumpster fire of a situation that resembles a TMZ story more than an NFL draft issue. As for the Manti Te’o NFL Draft projections go he has to realize that the people really don’t care and it’s best to move on and forget it! If anyone representing or surrounding Manti Te’o please tell him this interview only has one direction to go, and up isn’t it.
