Sanchez Benched – Greg McElroy Start
Rex Ryan, New York Jets Head Coach, announced earlier today that the team will have Greg McElroy start in place the benched Mark Sanchez. This is after the Monday Night Football game where Sanchez turned the ball over 5 times, including twice late in the game in scoring position.
The sad reality for Jets fans is that you are most likely stuck with Mark Sanchez on the roster due to salary cap issues. That doesn’t however mean that wont see Greg McElroy start from now on.
The Jets may have to live with the sub par quarterback for another year. You can’t make Sanchez should all the blame in the slipshod Monday Night Football performance. In a game where he started OK, moved the ball down the field the Jets coaching staff threw back up Tim Tebow in the game for no clear reason.
After that Sanchez checked out and hung it up. The post game press conference was a horrible thing to watch as the former starting quarterback looked lost. I think knew that the decision had been made for a Greg McElroy start the rest of the season.
One thing is for certain, the New York Jets will have a lot of decisions to make in the coming months. I cannot see how they stick with Rex Ryan. This is his group of players, not the ones that got him to two consecutive ACF Championship games. Good luck Gang Green nation!
Greg McElroy will get the start at quarterback for the New York Jets in Week 16, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. It will be the first start of McElroy’s NFL career as he replaces the ineffective Mark Sanchez….More at Greg McElroy to start for New York Jets, according to report – Gang …
