The Division gets Resistance update tomorrow with new game modes

Among the top additions is the new West Side Piers PvE map expansion, featuring new story content and side missions, along with a new social space called Camp Clinton.

Resistance update 1.8 is the largest free update for the game to date, expanding the game map with West Side Pier, introducing new open world activities and new games modes too. Tom Clancy's The Division will also be available at a 70% discounted price during this time on all platforms, and players will be able to carry over all of their progress if they decide to purchase the full game.

For those unfamiliar with it, the online action-RPG title was released back in March 2016 on the Xbox One, and it's set in a post-apocalyptic version of Manhattan, which has been hit by a deadly virus. If you already own The Division, you'll have free access to every add-on included as DLC in the game's Season Pass from 5 December until the 10th.

Skirmish (PvP mode) - In Skirmish, two teams of four compete against each other to get the highest number of kills before the time expires. Varied computer-controlled enemies continuously spawn in waves as up to four agents try to survive for as long as they can.

The Underground expansion has also undergone some changes, adding new Directives, Hunter enemies (who can drop exotic loot), and weekly assignments that offer even more loot. Teams earn points each time a downed enemy player is eliminated.

The titular Resistance refers to new end-game PvE content that seems to play out pretty much like a traditional wave-based survival mode.

The Division takes place weeks after a devastating pandemic sweeps through New York City on Black Friday. The best part is you can team up with other players to investigate the sources of the virus and reclaim the city from the overwhelming turmoil.
