Additionally, Square Enix announced that "it won't be very long between the official reveal and when you can play". Of course, just because Square Enix is playing coy doesn't mean we don't have some insight about the title.
Noticeably, the statement contains seven sentences, with the first letter of each sentence spelling out the word "Shadow". The other is when they refer to the game as "Lara Croft's defining adventure", which is interesting, as it may point to another step into taking the current version of the character closer to the iconic version of the original series.
While there are plenty of big gaming events that the statement could be hinting at, everything points to the release of the affirmation upcoming film remake Tomb Raider.
Square Enix is excited to share some big news with you next year.
Lara Croft has always been a name synonymous with high-octane action thanks to the recent slate of titles from the Tomb Raider reboot series, and according to publisher Square Enix, we may soon be seeing the latest adventure for Lara to take on. The announcement was posted to the Tomb Raider Twitter account. This is pretty interesting considering Rise of the Tomb Raider featured a timed exclusivity deal which prevented PlayStation players from playing the game for a full year after the Xbox One release.
