PS4 games have been sold - that's in shops and from the PlayStation Store - Sony said.

A Nintendo Switch experience centre. Sony sold 80 million PS3 consoles. Think of it like a tablet with a TV dock and dedicated controllers. The tablet portion of the console features a 6.2-inch capacitive touch-screen with an HD resolution (1280x720). Headset sales have likely been buoyed by the continued success of PlayStation 4, which has cumulatively sold through more than 70.6 million units to consumers worldwide.

All of those PS4 sales are also helping Sony's Playstation VR, which has cumulatively sold more than 2M units to consumers worldwide as of December 3, 2017.

This represents sales of around 4 years out from the system's November 15, 2013 launch, keeping the PS4 roughly in line with the sales of the PlayStation 2. In total, over 12.2 million copies of PSVR games have been sold in both storefronts and digital marketplaces.

Sony today announced that this milestone had been surpassed as of December 3rd 2017, so this number takes into account all the units sold during last month's Black Friday deals, which saw as much as $100 cut off the headset in various bundles. "I can not thank our fans and partners enough. We will continue to work closely with partners to maintain this momentum and remain steadfast in making PS4 the best place to play".

Going into 2018, Sony will continue to build on it's 2017 momentum with a slew of exclusive titles.

We can expect to see these numbers continue rising next year as we see the release of several big titles in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, Monster Hunter: World, Yakuza Kiwami 2, God of War, and Shadow of the Colossus.
