Mamata condemns killing of labourer from WB in Rajasthan

The murderer has been arrested and he is now under interrogation, according to the police.

According to India Today, in a second video, Raigar confessed to the crime and said he is ready to surrender.

After the murder, the man rants hate speech declaring that he had killed him to save sister from "love jihad". Regar was later arrested by the police who also reportedly recovered the murder weapon at the scene of the crime.

The presence of a young girl in the video has fuelled rumours that it could be a case of love jihad and that the labourer was in an alleged illicit relationship with the accused's sister.

The incident took place in Rajasthan's Rajsamand district and the accused, Shambunath Raigar, also recorded the horrific act which was uploaded on social media.

The clips, circulated on WhatsApp, emerged from the western state's Rajsamand district on Wednesday, police said.

The entire incident happened on Dev heritage road in Rajnagar area of Rajsamand.

Police found a motorcycle, scooty, axe, bottle of petrol and a half-burnt Aadhaar card on the spot.

Without delay, he along with ASP Manish Tripathi and DSP Rajendra Singh reached the location where they found a badly disfigured body. A team of FSL, dog squad was summoned.

The district administration has suspended the internet to prevent its circulation further.

The way the video has been shot it is apparent that there was a third person shooting it.

An attempt was made to burn the victim by pouring kerosene on him. The police have started its investigations.

As it could be seen in the video, he attacked the man from behind while continuously warning him against the practice of love jihad.

With the new reports, the case has been labeled as a love-triangle-jealousy one rather than "Love-jihad", like the accused wished people to believe.
