2 people shot at New Mexico high school


The San Juan County Sheriff's Office said there was an active shooter at Aztec High School in New Mexico.

At least one shooter is also down.

Sheriff Ken Christesen confirms the shooting at Aztec High School on Thursday morning.

Officials posted on Facebook shortly before 9 a.m. that the school is being evacuated. Parents were asked to avoid the area and pick up their children at a nearby location.

"San Juan County, NM - Multiple people wounded from gun shots at Aztec High School - All area Farmington Schools are on lockdown."
Police did not provide details on the status of the shooting suspect or victims.

Farmington Municipal Schools wrote on Facebook all schools in the district went into preventive lockdown due to the incident.
