An encounter between security forces and terrorists broke out at Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, the Special Operations Group (SOG) Kulgam and 9 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of the Army cordoned off Nowbug Kund, Qazigund area of Kulgam following specific information about presence of militants.
Meanwhile, two militants were killed Monday night in a gunfight with government forces in Kupwara district after they attacked a police party in Rajwar area.
A police official said that no exchange of fire was their between militants and the government forces.
The slain militant was identified as Mudasir Badroo, a resident of Yaripora in Kulgam.

Mobile internet service was suspended in Kulgam and Anantnag.
