Dallas County assistant DA fired for behavior toward Uber driver

She was a prosecutor in the DA's Crimes Against Children section. I was just telling Facebook friends and when I get home I have thousands of views. The driver responds that the cops are on their way. "You're kind of right.' So I took out my phone and I recorded it". "Just take me home, dude". The audio was also posted on Reddit.

The woman proceeds to tell the driver that "everything's being recorded" as he continues to ask Warner to just get out of the vehicle.

Warner: No, because now I'm pissed the **** off! So do you want to take me home or do you want to stay here? "I wanted the cops to show up so they could do something about it", Platt said.

Warner: We'll wait for the cops. Jesus Christ, you're a f-- idiot in a stupid f-- hat. "I said, 'You know what?"

She demands to be dropped off at her house. Platt is heard calmly asking her several times to leave his vehicle.

Warner was tearful Tuesday, and said, "I'm very sorry for the language I used". Oh my God, you're an idiot.

When police came, they put the woman in the cruiser but did not charge her. Platt says police asked him, "You good?" and Platt replied he guessed that he was.

The woman brings up her job, saying, "Everything's being recorded".

"I think this might be kidnapping right now, actually", she said. "I'm pretty sure that had a destination... you're holding me here". "Ma'am, will you please leave my vehicle", he says. So under the law it's recklessly keeping me from where I was going and you have done that.

'You're kidnapping me, ' she continued. 'You're committing a third- to first-degree felony.

"Although criminal charges have not been filed, her behavior is contrary to this office's core principle of integrity, and it will not be tolerated", District Attorney Faith Johnson said in a statement.

"My career is done so I just wanted to put my side out there", she said. "I will not waver on my expectation of the highest integrity for myself or my staff", she said. I will continue to run this office with transparency and respect for the justice system and the community we serve. Johnson urged the public to "look beyond this incident" and understand that prosecutors work hard to seek justice on citizens' behalf. That being said, the audio doesn't tell you that I was in a situation that made me feel very uncomfortable and I became defensive and eventually angry. He noticed she was getting increasingly upset, he said.

Platt pulled over and asked Warner to get out, and then called the police when she wouldn't leave.

He reported the incident to Uber, anxious that his passenger would follow through with her threats, and said he only wanted an apology from Warner for "belittling" him and "way worse". "I'm a district attorney".

Platt said he didn't intend for the recording to cause Warner to lose her job.

Not everyone was piling on Jody Warner after the story broke. "Any further information relating to this incident should be directed to the Dallas County District Attorney's Office".

She reportedly left in a police vehicle.

In a statement to ABC, Warner denied hitting Platt, but expressed regret over the incident.

But she continued to berate the driver.

Assistant District Attorney Jody Warner was sacked Monday over the Friday night incident. "What a joke", she can be heard saying.

"Who are they going to believe?" Warner's Twitter and Instagram pages are also deleted.

At one point, she allegedly threatened him that he could be charged with kidnapping. "As an organization over the past 8 years, BvB Dallas has raised over $2.3 million; raising over $490K last year alone (wow!?)".

"Why, because I have a brain and you don't?" Thanks in advance for your help in the fight to #TackleAlz!
