- Actress Rose McGowan has turned herself to authorities in Virginia after an arrest warrant for felony possession of a controlled substance was issued earlier this year.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority said McGowan left personal belongings on United flight 653 after arriving at Dulles on January 20. "Our police have attempted to contact Ms. McGowan so that she can appear in a Loudoun County Virginia court to respond to the charge". The sheriff's office told HuffPost that the actress was arrested and booked before being released later Tuesday on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department obtained the arrest warrant on February 1.

In a series of tweets on October 12, 2017, McGowan said Weinstein raped her and Amazon Studios ignored her complaints.

McGowan last month said Twitter suspended her account after she accused Ben Affleck of lying over his prior knowledge of Weinstein's predatory sexual behaviour.

In recent weeks, McGowan was named in a The New York Times exposé that detailed decades of sexual harassment and assult allegations against Weinstein. "What a load of HORSES***".

Rose, 44, is thought to have been paid £75,000 by the producer over an incident in the 1990s, and she recently tweeted: "Ladies of Hollywood your silence is deafening".

"We are an army of thorns", she added.
