Taylor Swift has opened up a new battleground in her current blitzkrieg on pop culture.
Glu Mobile, the gaming company responsible for hits like Kim Kardashian: Hollywood and bombs like Nicki Minaj: Empire is at it again with The Swift Life, an app that's all about the one and only Taylor Swift.
Swift is working with mobile-games developer Glu Mobile on app. According to the clip, users will be able to "connect with Taylor" via the star's personal feed, get "new and exclusive pics and video", interact with friends, fans, and even the singer herself. In addition to access to Taylor, the app will provide opportunities for Swift fans to connect and network with each other, building on Swift's already-strong presence on platforms like Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram. And similarly, it promises "exclusive" content and photos and direct engagement with Swift. Honestly, it looks a lot like the absolutely bonkers app that actor Jeremy Renner released earlier this year.
There's no indication of whether fans will make in-app purchases on The Swift Life.
"Hey guys, it's Taylor", Swift says in a video posted to her YouTube channel.
"I think you guys are really going to like this", Swift says in the video announcing the app. Can she truly do any more for us?! "It would preferable if you did".
Unfortunately for rabid fans, the app is only releasing its beta version in select territories right now; it'll go live in late 2017.
