The police had on Wednesday said Umeike died from suffocation and that Davido lied during questioning.

Reports added that the bartender of the club Davido's team and Tagbo hung out confirmed that the deceased had "40 shots of tequila", and that he "exhibited signs of drunkenness".

Recalling how it happened, Edgar said, "On September 3, 2017, at about 0920hrs, the Chief Security Officer of General Hospital, Lagos, one Oparanti Moshood, alleged and alerted the DPO (Lion Building) that an unidentified male was brought in dead (BID) in an ash colour Toyota Camry saloon auto with identification number LSD 738 El".

According to him, Close Circuit Television (CCTV) footages obtained from the General Hospital, Lagos, revealed that Davido's escort Hilux vehicle driver and two of his (Davido's) friends took the deceased to the hospital and abandoned him there.

This is after actress Caroline Danjuma revealed that Davido knew about Tagbo's death hours before others knew and did nothing about it. Imohimi also claimed that hospital footage showed a white vehicle owned by Davido near the hospital on the night of Umeike's death. And this debunks the singer's claims that he did not know how the deceased got to the hospital.

Edgal in his briefing said Davido, who was allegedly fingered in the mysterious death of his friend, has been re-invited by the Force.
