Today, Netflix released the official trailer for Spike Lee's new TV series, She's Gotta Have It. The movie is being turned into a TV series on Netflix, which Lee will also direct (for all 10 episodes).
Cleo Anthony plays the model, Greer Childs, Lyriq Bent plays the overprotective investment banker, Jamie Overstreet, and Anthony Ramos plays the sneakerhead, Mars Blackmon.
The trailer features a glimpse of Spike as the original Mars Blackmon before introducing his new Nola Darling and her three lovers.
Of course, Darling is also surrounded by a stable of friends played by Margot Bingham, Chyna Layne, and Elise Hudson.
Let us know what you think of the series and the trailer in the comments. After juggling three men, and experimenting with monogamy, the film's central character Nola Darling ultimately learned she didn't need a man to make her happy. The movie centers around Brooklyn artist Nola Armstrong who is in her late twenties and like many people that age is trying to figure herself out and manage her professional side with the personal side of her life. Nola is aggressive, progressive, very sexual, and open to all kinds of relationships.
Working alongside producer wife Tonya Lewis Lee, Lee has directed the entire first run and the show will hit Netflix on 23 November. The film signaled a change of how African Americans are portrayed in movies.
