The event will take place on December 16 at Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler will look to cement his place atop the contender's list when he faces Rafael dos Anjos in the main event at FOX UFC Fight Night in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on December 16.

ESPN.com ranks Lawler and dos Anjos the Nos.

Tickets are set to go on sale on October 20 at 10 a.m.

This past July, Lawler (28-11) returned for the first time since dropping the UFC welterweight title to Tyron Woodley in 2016 with a decision win over Donald Cerrone.

Lawler vs. dos Anjos will headline the upcoming FOX UFC Fight Night card from Canada with more bouts expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Victories over Carlos Condit, Rory MacDonald, Johny Hendricks, Matt Brown and Jake Ellenberger highlight the Lawler resume, which includes a 602-day reign as UFC welterweight champion.

The 32-year-old moved up to 170 from 155 earlier this year after losing the lightweight strap to Eddie Alvarez in July of 2016 and a subsequent unanimous decision loss to current interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson last November.

Dos Anjos, meanwhile, last fought at UFC 215, also in Canada, when he dominated long-time contender Neil Magny to a first-round submission win.

With the show headlining on FOX, the victor would have a strong case for a title shot at welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, who is now out of action with a torn labrum.
