With the many controversial statements and policies that Trump has pushed for, as a candidate and while serving as president, organizations across the country have distanced themselves from his properties or other brands. His team quit using Trump SoHo in 2016.
The Washington Post reported on Thursday that none of the 105 franchises across four major sports leagues that responded to the newspaper's survey said they stayed at a Trump hotel when traveling.
"The president has seemingly made a point of dividing us as best he can", Steve Kerr, coach of the Golden State Warriors, told The Post.
Last season, Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago didn't host the Los Angeles Dodgers when they faced the Cubs in the NLCS despite staying there earlier in the season.
The reports states that 16 of the 17 NFL, NBA, MLB and National Hockey League teams that previously stayed at Trump hotels in recent years confirmed they will be checking in at other properties when traveling around the country.
All but one of the 12 teams said they have stopped patronizing the Trump SoHo since Donald Trump launched his presidential bid in 2015, according to team officials. Not a single team confirmed its players stay at Trump properties.
Most notably, the Trump SoHo hotel, which used to serve as a regular home-away-from-home for National Basketball Association teams staying in NY, has been dropped by at least 11 teams across the National Basketball Association since President Trump began his campaign in 2015. Even before Trump's crusade to force players to stand during the national anthem, professional teams were taking their business away from his hotels and other properties.
"I don't care what haters think - I'm proud to not stay in Trump hotels", the Bucks forward told the Sporting News in November.
"I don't support someone who endorses hate on other people", Parker said. 'He ran his campaign on hate. 'The president's position on athletes standing for the National Anthem is about respecting the flag and the men and women of the military who sacrifice to defend it and nothing else'.
