It's October. The weather is finally cooling down (in some places), and Halloween is fast approaching.

Of course, the two musicians also now comprise the official member roster for Nine Inch Nails, who released their Add Violence EP earlier this summer, following 2016's Not The Actual Events. It also features music from "Assault On Precinct 13", "The Fog", "Dark Star" and more. "My friends and I left the theater forever changed". We were damaged and scarred, with the sh*t genuinely scared out of us and that theme stuck firmly in our heads. Carpenter's revolutionary use of analog synthesizers when scoring Halloween became a hallmark of horror movies to follow as well as influencing a new crop of musicians like Mike Patton, Symmetry, Desire and Chromatics, Cliff Martinez, and SURVIVE have taken elements of Carpenter's signature sound.

John Carpenter will return as the composer for the next Halloween movie, as the director himself confirmed in a interview. Not only is he about to release the new career retrospective Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998, but he's having a new film added to his classic Halloween franchise by none other than David Gordon Green and Danny McBride. Carpenter also composed the scores for Halloween II and Halloween III: Season Of The Witch, but the filmmaker has been absent from the series ever since.

Reznor and Ross scooped an Oscar for their 2010 soundtrack for The Social Network, while picking up a Grammy for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo in 2013. In addition to being available to listen to on YouTube, the Reznor and Ross cover of Halloween can be purchased on Amazon.
