Jason Momoa breaks silence on that Game of Thrones rape joke

Momoa then jokes: "And rape handsome women and have them fall in love with me, you know what I mean?"

It sounds like even Jason Momoa is grossed out by his 2011 joke. During a press conference to promote "Game of Thrones", the actor allegedly said that being able to "rape lovely women" as Khal Drogo is what he loved most in working for the series.

For those who never caught the earlier seasons of Game Of Thrones, Momoa's character Khal Drogo engaged in graphic non-consensual sex with Daenerys Targaryen, played by Emilia Clarke.

A clip of the incident has resurfaced online in the wake of allegations that Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein sexually harassed and assaulted numerous women over a career of over 20 years.

Social media users were quick to react with disappointment after seeing the footage.

"Tonight i saw a disgusting clip of jason momoa making a rape joke and i am absolutely repulsed".

"There's so many things you can do, like rip someone's tongue out of their throat, and get away with it, and rape handsome women". In a Facebook post, the father of three said he is "saddened and angry" that an influential personality would use his power to manipulate women for sexual gain.

Momoa's Justice League co-star Ben Affleck has been hit with accusations of sexual harassment in the past few days, to which he also issued an apology.
