Sergio Aguero was an unused substitute for Manchester City's last two matches after recovering from a broken rib, but could return to their starting line-up against Burnley tonight.

In a place where chips come with gravy and the simple form of a meat-filled pie is a paragon of virtue, Pep Guardiola's masterpiece of geometry and physics is now being welcomed as part and parcel of the new Manchester scenery.

Man City Possible XI: Ederson, Walker, Stones, Otamendi, Delph, Fernandinho, Sane, D. Silva, De Bruyne, Sterling, G. Jesus. Up against free-scoring City, they will face their biggest test of the season. We have put ourselves in a good position (in the group).

Four minutes later, the in-form Kevin De Bruyne created the second, powering down the right flank and delivering a pinpoint low cross to Gabriel Jesus who made no mistake.

Only Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy (35.7%) now has a higher conversion rate from those in the top 10 scorers, while only team-mates Aguero (77.8) and Sterling (79.5) have a better goals-to-minute ratio. Both forwards have six goals each in the league, albeit with Aguero having played one less game.

They start jumping around and it did feel more or less like this.

However, the Citizens have averaged 3.2 goals-per- game across their last 10 league meetings with Burnley, including hitting them for six on two occasions (6-0 March 1999, 6-1 April 2010).

By this time, the delighted crowd was feasting on one of the best 30 minutes of football ever served up in the name of Manchester City Football Club.

This is the first time that a team managed by Pep Guardiola has scored 29 goals from their opening eight games of the season.

"They had a lot of problems last season to win away, but this season they have taken points at Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton".

"In Brazil when we win with so many goals the players tend to start playing with more style and being playful".

Burnley's Nick Pope has the best save percentage of any Premier League goalkeeper so far this season (91.7%) and has conceded just two goals in his 414 minutes on the pitch in the competition in 2017-18.
