In another post sent in a Sunday morning flury of tweets he mocked North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, referring to him as "rocket man".
The tweets come after a week in which Clinton has released her memoir and North Korea launched a ballistic missile over Japan.
"Important meetings and calls scheduled for today", Trump tweeted.
The retweet immediately drew hundreds of Trump's critics and supporters into a familiar vortex of debate, with many criticizing the GIF for seeming to encourage violence and others defending the president.
The first part of the video shows Trump, wearing tan slacks, a blue blazer and a red "Make America Great Again" hat teeing off on a golf course. And another shows an all-red map of the U.S. "Keep it up Libs". Asked him how Rocket Man is doing. "Too bad!", the president tweet. Long gas lines forming in North Korea.
He also endorsed Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette in the governor race there. That was also posted on a Sunday and was traced to a Reddit user named "HanA**holeSolo".
In the ensuing social media frenzy, CNN issued a statement denouncing Trump's decision to tweet the video. The tweet pinned to his page has a video of Clinton collapsing on September 11, 2016. Mike's Twitter bio references various conservative conspiracy theories, including one that alleges, without evidence, that former Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich was murdered to prevent him from leaking incriminating Democratic Party secrets to WikiLeaks.
