US President Donald Trump was not impressed by the North Korean statements.
Kim said Friday that the South Korean financial markets seemed to remain calm despite North Korea's latest missile launch, but the government will take immediate action, if necessary. "They [the US] should do more to find effective ways to resume dialogue and negotiation".
Military drills by the United States and its allies, as well as the continuing military maneuvers in the coast near the Korean peninsula, are an open show of hostility and long-dormant threat for North Korea.
"Our final goal is to establish the equilibrium of real force with the USA and make the US rulers dare not talk about military option", Kim was quoted as saying by the official Korean Central News Agency, during a visit to oversee Friday's missile launch.
Terming North Korea's latest violation of the relevant UN Security Council resolutions as a source of deep regret, the spokeswoman said, "We are convinced that now it is more important than ever before for all parties involved to stop escalating tensions that are accompanying every new round of reactions and counter reactions".
"We strongly urge the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's (DPRK) to cease all provocations immediately, and reiterate our long-standing call for the DPRK to abide by its worldwide obligations and commitments", the Ministry said, referring to North Korea by its official name. Since 1998, it is the sixth North Korean missile to fly over Japan.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Friday called on the global community to unite against North Korea's "provocative acts" and urged the country to change its current course of action, China's Xinhua news agency reported. According to the US and South Korean military, the missile was launched from the Pyongyang area.
