The Cleveland Browns are building for the future - and it's a good thing, too, because the present looks very grim indeed.

The Browns were backed up in their own end zone on a punt attempt after the first drive of the game, and the Steelers more than took advantage of the situation in the shadows of Cleveland's end zone.

The drive took 7 plays, covered 73 yards and ran 3:05 off the clock. Kizer scored two plays later.

The Browns cut Haden back on August 30, only to see him sign with the AFC North division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers nearly immediately. The Steelers only managed 290 total yards, and the Browns held Le'Veon Bell to just 32 yards on 11 carries.

There will be messages from tackle Joe Thomas, quarterback DeShone Kizer, linebacker Jamie Collins, linebacker Christian Kirksey, Coach Hue Jackson and others, Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reports. James made the catch with 45 seconds left in the second quarter.

The Steelers expanded their advantage to 21-10 on the following possession when Roethlisberger hooked up with James for a 2-yard pass out of an empty backfield.

With Pittsburgh needing a big play, Brown delivered one - as usual. The starter at right outside linebacker, T.J. Watt is another strong addition.

Game time is finally upon us!

The defense was also a bright spot on Sunday, as the group only allowed 14 points after that blocked punt disaster at the start of the game. QB Cody Kessler, who is 0-8 as a starter last season with the Browns previous year, was inactive.
