Bob Dylan to return to Ames next month

Bob Dylan has just announced a string of fall tour dates that includes an appearance at Akron's E.J. Thomas Hall, 198 Hill St., Friday, November 3.

Bob Dylan is returning to Ames Oct. 24 after previously performing at Stephens Auditorium in 1996.

Dylan and Staples will play the arena's inaugural show October 27 as part of Dylan's fall tour. Dylan toured extensively a year ago but never came around with a Detroit date. Dylan concluded the latest segment of his "Never Ending Tour" back in July and it seems that he didn't need much of a break before hopping back on the tour bus. "Triplicate" was a triple-disc cover album of classic American music.

The Iowa tour stop was announced on Dylan's official website, and tickets go on sale this Saturday.

Dylan, the 2017 recipient of the Nobel Prize for literature, will be accompanied by his band.
