Actor Dileep files fresh bail petition

Kochi: The hearing of the bail petition filed by actor Dileep in connection with the actress assault case has been completed in the Angamaly Magistrate Court today.

During the bail plea hearing, the police today explained to the court that Dileep had clearly given order to the main accused in the case, "Pulsar" Suni.

CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said that the allegation against the son of a political leader in Kavya Madhavan's bail petition is an attempt to divert the case.

Kavya and her mother were questioned earlier as part of the ongoing investigation.

Dileep is now in judicial custody after his bail plea was rejected by the court thrice. Besides, after the abduction, Suni visited Laksyah, an online apparel store run by the actress.

Kavya Madhavan has moved for bail days after prime accused in the case Pulsar Suni claimed that she was the "madam" he was referring to. In her plea, Kavya has alleged that the Kerala police were constantly calling her and there was a move to implicate her in the case. Kavya also said that SIT head IG Dinendra Kashyap was totally unaware of the plan to interrogate Dileep and has not met Dileep till date. The court is slated to hear the petition on Saturday.

As the investigation has reached the final stage, rumors have been rife the cops would make more arrests.

The proceedings on Saturday were out of bounds for all as the court extending the remand period of the actor till September 28th, with Dileep appearing through video conferencing from the Aluva sub-jail near here.
