'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' First day box-office collection

Today, the sizzling Hollywood star Salma Hayek, gave her best wishes to Akshay Kumar for his latest release "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha".

It has now come to light that Toilet - Ek Prem Katha is doing well even on Saturday [Day 2] and has registered around 20-25% growth. He took to Twitter to share this information and posted that in India, this film has acquired approximately 2900 to 3000 screens while overseas, it has acquired around 590 screens. However, the collections are relatively lower as compared to Akshay Kumar's Rustom as well Brothers, a film which released around the same time as Toilet around two years ago. While Airlift had collected Rs 11 crore net approx (Rs 110 million net approx) and Jolly LLB 2 had collected Rs 12 crore (120 million) net approx on its first day. However, Akshay's film witnessed decent footfalls in the theater on its first day of release itself. The movie is released under the banner Friday Filmworks, Plan C studios, Grazing Goat Pictures, Kriarj Entertainments and Abundantia Entertainment.

With this we can expect "Toilet - Ek Prem Katha" to mint good money at the box office. However, Jab Harry Met Sejal's opening day collection stood at Rs 15 crore approximately, the highest the film has seen in the domestic market. The movie is expected to beat the previous records of Akshay Kumar. Moreover, it has partial Krishna Janmashtami and the big Independence Day holiday lined up ahead on Monday and Tuesday.

The film follows the story of a newly Wednesday couple played by Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar who live in a small town.
