Bucs' Roberto Aguayo is missing kicks again

Tampa Bay selected Aguayo with the No. 59 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Florida State. Add to that a missed extra point and missed field goal in the first preseason game - while Folk was one-for-one with a 45 yarder, longer than any of Aguayo's makes last season - and the writing was on the wall. That was the worst total among the 30 kickers to attempt at least 20 field goals in 2016, and the third-worst among any kicker since 2000. "Unlucky", Aguayo said after the game. Aguayo will look for a fresh start elsewhere, while Nick Folk takes over the kicking responsibilities for the Bucs. He made 32 of 34 extra points last season. "You just have to keep your head up move on to the next day".

The 32-year-old Folk spent the last seven seasons with the New York Jets (2010-16), converted 27 of 31 field goals (87.1 percent) in 2016, tied for sixth-best in the National Football League, while making 24 of 26 extra-point attempts. His 71% accuracy on field goals was the lowest in the NFL. Not what I wanted. I did some good things.

Aguayo also stunk it up in the early going a year ago, missing an extra point in the Bucs' first preseason game and two field goals in their second. I had a field goal in there but at the end of the day, it wasn't what I wanted.

But it turned out to be his last in a Bucs uniform. "You know, I keep saying it, I can't say it anymore". 'Well, this guy said I could get 5 more yards.' I said, 'Did any of those guys make 23 of 24 or 25 of 26 or whatever the heck you did and win the Groza?' I said, 'Why are you listening to them?
