Uniontown State Police say that a "situation" took place at the Shop N' Save located on West Church Street in Fairchance around 8:00 pm.

Two state troopers were shot in Fairchance on Friday evening.

A Pennsylvania state trooper was critically injured when he was shot by a suspect in a robbery investigation before officers returned fire killing the shooter, state police said Saturday.

Witnesses said the troopers saw a man they believed had an outstanding warrant against him. When they started to physically control him, Belsar pulled a.38-bore pistol from his belt and discharged one shot, striking the two troopers.

Both troopers are stable and expected to survive, according to ABC News.

One of the troopers was treated and released for a wound to the hand.

Police sources said the suspect in the incident is dead.

A witness disclosed to Channel 11's Mike Holden that they were in their auto in the Shop 'n Save parking garage when they heard 10-15 shots. "Providing a safe environment for our employees and guests is our number one concern".

Further information was not immediately available.
