Belhaven - 4th of July Parade starts at 11 a.m., concerts begin at 2 p.m. and fireworks begins at 9 p.m. Special thanks to the Port of Astoria, Arbor Care Tree Specialists, and Lewis & Clark Golf & RV Park for their assistance in making the fireworks show happen.

Valley View's City Celebration will not take place until Labor Day weekend, according to Community Services Coordinator Greg Adcock. Begin the day with the annual Rotary ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary War Soldiers, as park staff & volunteers help pay tribute to the fallen. Starting at 6:30 pm, swing by any of the Galleria's restaurants, order something to-go, and enjoy it on the amphitheater lawn with live music from Vallejo and The Watters before the fireworks launch at 9 pm.

- Buena Vista - Fourth of July Celebration: All-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, activities and fireworks at dusk, Buena Vista; A variety of ticketing options offer extras such as a reading of the Declaration of Independence, a performance by a drum-and-fife group, children's games and meals.

Falls Church Celebration. 7-10 George Mason High School, 7124 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church.

The parachutist drop is scheduled for 9:30 p.m., followed immediately by city's Red White and BOOM fireworks show.

The boathouse, carousel, spray ground, playground and the walking path will all be closed July 3 and during the event, reopening on July 5. Parking will be on a first come, first serve basis. Daily: Meet Capt. America 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.; meet Iron Man 1 p.m. -3 p.m.

Before the parade, people can participate in the Warrensburg Parks and Recreation's Freedom Fest 5K at 8 a.m. starting at the train depot.

For anyone looking for July 4 festivities, whether it's fireworks, a grill out or other event, the 280 corridor has them covered.

Memorial Highway. Fireworks with Mansion Tour: $34 for adults; $24 for youth; No Mansion Tour: $30 for adults; $20 for youth.

Celebrate the Fourth with one of the events listed below. Parking is $10 per auto. Alcohol will be sold at the park from 5-8 p.m., and any alcohol present must be purchased from the park.

There will be vendors in the park from noon until 9 p.m., and visiting families are invited to bring their own picnic lunches or grill out.

Fireworks at Lake Fairfax Park. Packet pick-up is 10 5 p.m. Saturday, July 1 at Naples on the Run, located at 2116 Tamiami Trail N. or at 5:30 a.m. race day at the park. Festivities start at 9 p.m.

Say what you will about American culture, but there's no denying that we know how to throw the kind of Independence Day parties that would convince even the famously stoic George Washington to let loose. Food vendors will be available all day.

- Lake City - Fourth of July Celebration: Parade at noon, fireworks at 9 p.m., Lake City;

This year, the holiday takes place on Tuesday, July 4 - but that doesn't stop the fun from beginning as early as Saturday, July 1. Parking is free. Rain date is July 5. There will be music, food and games for the kids.

- Brighton - 4 p.m., with fireworks at 9:45 p.m., Carmichael Park, Brighton;

Kinston - Sand in the Streets concert begins at 6:00 p.m. July 4th at Pearson Park. The festival gates open at 6 pm and the fireworks begin around 9:30 pm.

The Grand Parade will start at 10 a.m. on Water and Lake streets.
