WhatsApp has finally introduced the new pin chats feature for all Android users, which was earlier this month only available to Android beta users of the messaging app.
The Pinned chats was previously available in beta phase and is now available as an update.
WhatsApp also released a press statement saying, "With pinned chats, you never have to worry about scrolling through the long list of conversations to text your family members or your best friend". In order to use the pinned chats feature, simply tap and hold the chat you would like to pin and a number of icons will appear on the top right hand corner of the screen. Now, with WhatsApp's "pinned chats" feature, it is possible. But you are free to pin individual chats or even group chats. Once the user pins any three messages, these messages will come on top in spite of other messages pouring in. They can do it by long-pressing the option and disabling the Pin button. To do this, just open the Google Play Store, search for WhatsApp and tap "UPDATE" to start the updating process. This comes in as a handy tool when you have too many chats to scroll down and look for a specific piece of information.
Once a chat is pinned, it stays on top of the window, regardless of the recency of the conversation. Before its arrival, the only way to keep important chats up top was to archive other chats constantly.
