It's not clear if Apple plans to continue selling the iPad mini for a period of time without further updates, or if it will pull the device at some point in the near future. With these releases, Apple fixed 67 unique vulnerabilities, with many of these vulnerabilities being shared over multiple platforms. (NASDAQ:AAPL) rumor mill today is news of the iPad mini line coming to an end.
KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared the predictions with 9to5Mac, in which he said there is more than 70 percent chance the new 10.5-inch iPad Pro will also make an appearance. This left the company's iPad lineup in an awkward position, as the 9.7-inch model is now $70 cheaper than the iPad Mini 4, despite having better specs.
If you count yourself as an Apple fan, then you may have noticed that there's one device that hasn't really gotten any love in a while: the iPad Mini.
It seems Apple came to that realization ahead of March's product changes, and while the 128 GB iPad mini 4 is still available, odds are it won't be around for long.
As for the next major update, iOS 11 is set for launch at Worldwide Developers Conference 2017 to be held at the McEnery Convention Center, San Jose, California, from June 5 to June 9.
"Apart from relocating the fingerprint reader, Apple may also add a dual-camera module that sits vertically on the back of the phone", CNBC.com reported on Thursday. This strongly suggests that this is a pre-launch testing of the devices by Apple itself.
In March I said the iPad mini would quietly disappear "soon-ish". There are speculations that the company will unveil a new 10.5-inch iPad Pro at this event.
The 10.5-inch iPad Pro has been rumored for several months now, and it was Kuo who had also first revealed that Apple is most likely going to introduce a smaller productivity-based tablet this year.
