"We are not charging them with kidnapping because the kidnapping and the murder merged together forms capital murder", Madison and Rankin Counties District Attorney, Michael Guest said.

Hinds County Sheriff Victor Mason said at a Thursday press conference that Kingston's mother, Ebony Archie, exited the Kroger on I-55 in Jackson at 2:30 a.m. and reported to a deputy on duty at the grocery store that her vehicle was stolen but did not mention her son was in the auto until later.

But at an afternoon news conference, Hinds County Sheriff Victor Mason said a deputy stationed at the Kroger saw Archie exit the store at about 2:30 a.m.

After the child's body was found, his great aunt, Velma Eddington, told the Clairon-Ledger that the child's death was the result of "evil". She was buying medicine, her family said, and Kingston had asked to stay in the auto. "That baby hadn't done nothing". They didn't have to kill him.

Three hours later, an Amber Alert was issued for Kingston.

Police said Kingston Frazier was found in the back of that vehicle with "at least one" gunshot wound.

Authorities say they have discovered the body of six-year-old Kingston Frazier of Jackson.

A Mississippi Highway Patrol tow truck hauls away the vehicle involved in the carjacking.

In the aftermath of the news of the tragic and senseless murder of kidnapped MS 6-year-old Kingston Frazier, many have taken to social media to share their shock and condolences.

Three suspects have been arrested after Kingston Frazier was allegedly kidnapped and killed in Gluckstadt, around 20 miles north of Jackson, Mississippi, on Thursday (18 May). Wakefield had been dismissed from the team, the official said.

All agencies are working collectively on this case.

"When a child is taken, we pull all resources available to us". It is possibly a Honda Civic with a dent on the rear passenger side.

Law enforcement officers said this is an on-going multijurisdictional investigation. "We can all pray that God will assuage the pain of Kingston's family and friends, while we hold the guilty accountable".
