Stevens: Thomas 'intention to play' after sister's death

The sister of Celtics star Isaiah Thomas, 22-year-old Chyna J. Thomas, died in a vehicle crash early Saturday morning.

"We are terribly saddened by the tragic loss of Chyna Thomas", the Celtics said in the statement.

A disgusting tragedy has struck the family of Isaiah Thomas just one day before his Boston Celtics were set to begin the National Basketball Association playoffs.

He will have support because the Globe's Adam Himmelsbach reported that some members of his "inner circle" were heading to Boston to be with him ahead of Sunday's 6:30 p.m. EDT game.

"I'm not feeling comfortable with him sitting on the sideline crying like that". Asking Rajon Rondo or Wade to do that would be a bit much.

"I know other teammates that I have can guard him, that want to guard him, that look forward to that matchup just as much as I do", Butler said.

Before the game, the Celtics held a moment of silence for Chyna, where Isaiah became overwhelmed with emotions.

Some fans, like the one below, even went so far as to call for his firing.

"We were so locked in all week", said Butler, who also pulled down nine rebounds as the Bulls capitalized on their size advantage and controlled the inside. But can the Chicago product do the same for his hometown team?

Bradley Beal scored 22 points and Markieff Morris had 21 points for the Wizards, and Marcin Gortat finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds. The Heat lost to Toronto in the Eastern Conference semifinals, then the three-time champion signed with Chicago.

The Chicago Bulls waited until the final night of the regular season to cement their spot in the postseason. "It was great to have him back". Aside from becoming probably the Celtics best passer on offense, Stevens said his leadership on the floor has been invaluable.

"It has to be", Horford said.
