Easter Sunday marks the close of the 40 days of lent which Christians commit themselves to by observing fasting, abstinence and goodwill to all.

Easter is primarily a time to reflect on Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection, but for many, Easter is like Christmas, it is celebrated as a combination of the secular and the sacred. All that Jesus had told them was now coming back to them and was making sense to them. all was being fulfilled as Jesus had said.

It's the churches 8th annual hunt, hosted by the Knights of Columbus, who say it's a fun way to get the family together and educate children about the importance of the Easter holiday. That connects with the church's view that every Sunday is a celebration of Easter.

Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) President Rev. Samson Ayokunle has assured Nigerians that the power of resurrection will end the menace of corruption and recession.

"Jesus waits for you and me, embracing us in our moments of greatest need and desire", Cardinal DiNardo said. "Let us rejoice in the glorious resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ on the auspicious occasion and pray for renewed peace and the prosperity to one and all". And that's what Easter does - gently or powerfully - that Jesus died on the cross not because God wasn't in control, but because He was - and still is.

"We turned it into a big celebration - we set up the chairs in a big rectangle facing the communion table".
