Hornets 'aggressively pursuing' Lou Williams trade, according to report

Earlier this week it was reported by multiple outlets that the Wizards had discussions with the Lakers regarding Williams.

Only time will tell whether Williams will end up with the Wizards or the Jazz. It was initially thought that Los Angeles would land the big man via trade, but the front office wouldn't budge on Brandon Ingram being included. The Lakers are going to have a lot of cap space again potentially in a couple years.

In recent years, most of the Lakers trade chatter hasn't amounted to anything. They opened the month with an eight-game losing streak and since then they have not recovered.

Because things are not working out, similar to the past few seasons, it seems like the only answer for the Lakers is a trade.

With the current situation the Brooklyn Nets are now in, it's silly to think they won't at least try to make one move come 3:00 PM on Thursday.

Johnson spent his entire 13-year playing career with the Lakers, helping to lead them to five National Basketball Association championships. In 58 games (one start), he is averaging a career-best 18.6 points, with 2.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.1 steals. A fan commented on his video saying he was sent by the Lakers to the Wizards for Kelly Oubre.

The Lakers are yet to confirm the intention of parting ways with Williams via trade. Even if its a future first, and its protected, there are potential long term consequences to consider. After making the playoffs in two of the last three years, coupled with the money that they spent this past offseason, Charlotte can't really afford to take a step back. Both are yet to have a significant impact on the team, although Russell is having a better outing this season. The Washington Wizards are apparently eyeing to acquire him, but they may have competition in the form of the Utah Jazz.

"[The Wizards] feel like if there's a wing player that they can get out on the trade market - Lou Williams with the Lakers, they have interest in, Bojan Bogdanovic with the Nets", The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski said.
